What I make

Figure in a fedora beneath descending laser beams, from a music show

Music shows

Graphics shows built to a track, animated beat by beat so the drawing and the music land together.

Falling green Matrix-style laser glyphs on black

Abstracts & VJ loops

Seamless looping cues for clubs, festivals and live sets, tuned to hold at performance scan rates.

Animated laser mermaid in red and green on black

Character & story animation

Hand-animated figures with real weight and timing. The hardest thing to do in laser, and the rarest.

Frame from a full-dome laser show

Dome & planetarium shows

Full segments or complete shows, built for the geometry and the slower scan speeds domes usually run.

The LaserLair wordmark drawn as single-stroke laser outlines in white on black

Brand & product launch sequences

Logo builds, product forms and typography for launches, activations and showroom openings.

Screen content too

LaserLair is a brand of Mareld Productions, a studio that also produces screen-based media. If your show needs video or projection content alongside the laser work, that can be handled under the same roof.

Process

How a project runs

Phase 01

Discovery

A conversation about the venue, the hardware, the audience and the deadline. I'll tell you honestly if a scope won't work, and what the alternatives are.

Phase 02

Storyboard

Frames, timing, concept and design ideas and a written treatment before any animation begins. Approved in writing before moving on to production.

Phase 03

Animation

Built with previews at agreed milestones, so you can see progress rather than waiting for a complete reveal.

Phase 04

Scan test

Verified on your hardware and scan rate where possible, either on the hardware available to me or sent over for you to test.

Phase 05

Delivery & handover

Final files, a written license, and documentation your operators can follow.

Budget

What it costs

Rough starting figures rather than quotes. Every project is priced after the discovery email. Scope and pricing are flexible, so tell me your budget and I will plan a project that fits it.

Next step

Tell me what you're building

A short email is enough to start: the venue, roughly what you have in mind, and when it has to be running. I'll tell you what's possible and what it would cost. If you already know your budget, say so and I can propose a solution around that price.
